Hello and welcome to Sweaty in Paradise! A blog where two gals talk about traveling the world and sweating! In today's episode, I (Sweaty Iz) spoke with co-author and sweaty pal, Sweaty Al. Sweaty Al and I met last summer on a study abroad in New Zealand, where we bonded over our shared love of going places and complaining about levels of body moisture. Now, almost a year later, we finally decided to actually start the blog we talked about making almost a year ago. Side note: we love procrastinating! Anyway, please enjoy this insightful interview into the mind of Sweaty Al herself through my thought-provoking questions.

Iz: Ahem. Name?
Al: Allison Welch
Iz: Where do you live?/Where are you from?
Al: I live in Gainesville, Fl currently. I'm from Sarasota, Fl.
Iz: What is your favorite color?
Al: Dark green, like trees.
Iz: What is your favorite food?
Al: Well my favorite singular food is chocolate. My favorite meal is brown rice with brussel sprouts with barbecue sauce on them and fake chicken (not real chicken because I don't eat real chicken) and sometimes there's broccoli involved. That's my favorite food that I can make myself, however, my favorite restaurant, as we all know, is Market on South [which is in Orlando, Fl and is indeed quite delicious]. And my favorite thing to get there is the cheesy homies.
Iz: Most of that sounded disgusting. Question next: on a Sweaty Scale, what is your normal level of sweaty whilst hanging around outside here in Florida?
Al: Well I'm definitely a little moist. I'm gonna go with, on the 0 to sweaty scale, I am slick. Numerical answer, maybe like a 4.5 or 4.2.
Iz: What are your top three travel destination?
Al: Iceland's my first one. Then probably Switzerland, then probably Argentina. Honorable mention: Alberta, Canada.
Iz: What would be the title of your autobiography?
Al: Can it be Sweaty in Paradise?
Iz: No it's already the blog title.
Al: Why can't we make a memoir based on the blog?
Iz: We... maybe will in the future, but that's a cop-out.
Al: I don't know. Probably "The White Vegan Feminist: A Social Outcast".
Iz: Solid choice. What is your favorite place you've ever visited?
Al: Well, if I'd spent more time in Fiordland National Park [in New Zealand], it would probably be that, but I'm gonna say Rocky Mountain National Park.
Iz: Nice I was gonna guess Milford Sound [which is in Fiordland National Park]. What would you do if you won the lottery?
Al: Well, the first thing I would do is get laser hair removal. When I was younger, I used to say I'd buy a Segway, but now I'm probably not gonna spend my money on that. After the laser hair removal, I'd probably go backpacking in Europe.
Iz: If you could live in any city, where would you live?
Al: I'm gonna say Seattle.
Iz: Great. Beautiful. Thank you for your time.
(This interview has been condensed and edited because there was a lot of crosstalk and laughter involved.)
